Have you ever needed surgery and are anxious about the process? Or do you require a minor procedure but are afraid of the pain involved? A visit to the doctor can be daunting and stressful, especially when you have no idea of the medical terms and jargon used by healthcare professionals. Well, even as a health care worker, I still find visiting a doctor to be stressful and unfriendly in certain settings with long wait times and the occasional cranky health care worker that makes things worse. As I work in the field of anesthesiology, I could contribute as part of the online community by providing information about my field with the hopes that it can help people who need that information.
This blog was inspired by my husband. He often surfs the internet to search for valuable information and follows verified lawyers/ pilots on social media with the hopes of learning and understanding how things work in those fields. I was a little skeptical about writing about my experiences in my career as I do not want to make the mistake of giving medical advice to the public while risking a lawsuit (yes, doctors get sued all the time for petty things), therefore I will not be answering personal questions or accepting any direct messages. If anyone needs medical advice, I encourage you to visit your nearest health facility to obtain information from professionals.
I will also make it clear that what I write is mostly based on my personal encounters and experiences and it does not represent any institution. Anyone who reads my blog and plans to use the information here would be doing it at your own risk and I will not take any liability if things were to go wrong. Hey, I am all in to help but sometimes being kind in this complicated world could backfire and the last thing I want out of this blog is to be involved in a lawsuit.
Do check out my first article tomorrow about the importance of fasting before procedures.
